I work at one of the big retail bookstores, and I’ve had customers in recently who are looking for Lackey’s new book…and we don’t have it. It’s out there, it’s available for ordering, but somehow it’s not at our store (nor any of our nearby “sisterstores,” which I also checked).
Weird. We certainly carry her books — she takes up a good-sized chunk of the SF/F section.
That is strange. I’ll have to check the local stores around where I live. I used to work at a Books-A-Million part-time for about two years, and we’d occasionally have situations like this where a new book would say on the Web site it was out, but we didn’t have any copies.
