New Site Design

I’ve spent the better part of the last couple of days switching over to a new site design. It’s now fully complete and functional. Let me know what you think.

  1. Steven, the new site looks fantastic! Nice work. I like the header image especially.

  2. Wow, pretty! Shows that middle ages and history does not equal stuffy and dusty!

  3. Looks nice!

  4. I like it! Friendly bright header.

  5. well, i mean bright and brooding header - very middle ages -nice!

  6. Great new look. The header image is a nice touch. Definitely ties in with the subject matter of the blog. I’d be interested to know where you found it.

  7. Thanks to everyone for the feedback so far. I must have spent two or three hours looking at different header images and how they meshed with the overall design until I finally settled on this one. I found the image I liked at iStockphoto. It’s a great royalty free image site for anyone who’s interested. Of course, you have to buy credits to download images but it’s not too expensive.

  8. Where is this castle? I’m sure it has an interesting history.

  9. Actually, I’m not sure which castle it is. Sometimes the images on iStock will be titled or tagged with the castle name, but this one was simply titled “Castle Path Panorama.” I’m pretty sure it’s a castle either in England or Wales.

  10. I like! Very open and clean.

  11. I never saw the old design, but I do like the new one! Thanks for following me on Twitter–love the blog and I don’t think I would have discovered it otherwise.

  12. Thanks, Clare! Glad you stopped by my site. I’ll be looking for your updates on Twitter.
