BBC YouTube Series - Medieval Lives

A playlist on YouTube has been created for the BBC series - Medieval Lives (with host Terry Jones). The series covers the lives of the:

  • Peasant
  • Monk
  • Damsal
  • Minstral
  • Knight
  • Philosopher
  • Outlaw
  • and King

I’ve embedded the first video in this post, the life of a peasant part I. You can watch the rest on YouTube. Personally, I haven’t had the chance to watch many of them yet.

    This is a really good video - I thought it was going to be a bit superficial and populist to start with, but actually there’s lots of interesting stuff here - particularly the present day survival of marking out land and the proceedings of a manor court.
