Medieval Manuscript Collection - John Rylands University Library
From the Rylands Medieval Collection:
“The Special Collections Division of the The John Rylands University Library, The University of Manchester, holds outstanding collections of rare books, manuscripts and archives from the Middle Ages. [The] Medieval Collection contains complete works of paramount importance in a variety of key subject areas, including History, Theology, Art, Literature, Language, and the History of Science and Medicine.
The basis of the collection is In the Bigynnyng, a project started in October 2008, to digitise and describe [the] collection of over forty Middle English manuscripts. The collection illustrates progress so far, including a medieval cookery book, a copy of The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer, several copies of the Wycliffe Bible and a richly illuminated copy of John Lydgate’s poem The Siege of Troy.”
